Our opinion

Even without the network updates listed on the main page, the layout just seems to scream network site. That's not necessarily a bad thing as long as the overall network is good, but I do like a bit more personality in my sites. The guys that are shown here tend to be your average dude next door – they have average builds, a bit of muscle, but they aren't in either the twink or jock direction.

There are 19 episodes with an update once every two weeks – Straight Guys are Broke is a relatively newer site, but they do seem to be keeping that update schedule steady. Since these are all exclusive episodes I can give them a bit of leeway on this, although it obviously would have been much better if they had started out with a bigger base collection.

The episode pages have a nifty design to them, with tabs for each of the different update components. There's the movie section, the high def movies section, and the photo section. Oddly the tour had no mention of HD videos, but I'm certainly not going to complain of a surprise like this. I just have to check out the HD videos first, and this is what I found. The format for this, and all of the other video offerings is WMV. The HD videos are offered in a few separate clips, and you can stream or download these.

The HD video is shown at 1280x720 and 1.94 mbps. The quality is certainly what I would consider HD , and the camera work is well done as well. On the other video tab, you have a full scene download with three different quality options, shown at 512x288 and 1 mbps, 420x236 and 600 kbps, and 420x236 and 340 kbps. The videos run over 25 minutes long, but with the smaller file sizes of the lower quality versions you won't be waiting too long for the full scene download to get done.

For pictures, they have sets of over 100 pictures per set, letting you take a look at these desperate straight boys some more. The photos are above average quality and are shown at 853x1280, and you can go through the set with a hands free slideshow. I was something surprised to see that they do not offer a zip download, given the amount of options given elsewhere in the site.

Straight Guys are Broke offers a pretty extensive bonus network, with 14 exclusive sites run by the same company, and over 30 third party feeds. Although not all of these deal with the gay for pay niche, there are many different types of gay porn from interracial to snowballing to even cock docking (which you totally have to see to believe) so they are well worth your while to check out.

Conclusion

Straight Guys are Broke is not the biggest gay for pay site around, but their exclusive episodes shown in HD are enough to make you want to stick around for the updates. They also have good value with their bonus network, as well as a user friendly set up.
