First impression

Kate Fern has the look that will appeal to those of you not seeking a pornstar Barbie but a legitimate, girl next door type. She isn't athletic but she's relatively fit bordering at slightly chubby, she's cute with dark hair and penetrating blue eyes. What Do We Think of Kate Fern

Kate Fern is a solo/personal amateur site from top to bottom, with an emphasis on the amateur. According to her 'biography', which reads more like a fact sheet, Kate Fern is pretty much your typical 19-year old girl. I guess the only thing that sets her apart from any other girl is the fact that she likes to get naked and show off her nude body to the camera and, as a result, thousands of fans around the world.

I spent a good deal of time sniffing around her site, browsing galleries and downloading movies and found a good variety of action, especially for a solo girl site like Kate's. Most sets are of her by herself stripping, teasing and masturbating her shaved pussy with fingers and dildos. That being said, lesbian licking, petting, making out and insertion fun makes regular appearances here as well, especially in the photo galleries. I didn't see any boy/girl scenes or galleries, but she hasn't ruled them out for future updates. In general, the videos will be more intense and sexual than the galleries.

Updates look like they started in March 2009 and they didn't really slowed down until mid March where the latest update was posted. Until then a new video or gallery was added once a week. That makes 57 photo sets in all. Pictures have 1024x1530 pixel resolutions. The lack of quality lighting and a professional photographer obviously means some limitations in terms of quality, but then that's part of what makes amateur amateur to many fans. You can browse through the galleries online or download them in easy to grab zip files that make archiving a breeze.

There is currently 25 videos online. Also here was the last update made in March 2010. These are very large when you grab them in Windows Media format or stream them online. Each has a default resolution of 1440x1080 pixels and run at a bit rate of 5.68 Mbps. Unfortunately these files are actually encoded at a higher resolution than what they were filmed in. The resolution is HD, but the videos were shot with non-HD cameras, it seems. That combined with average to poor lighting makes the videos blurry and flat in terms of color. Again side effects of being amateur created, homemade porn. You can also grab small MPEG files with a 320x240 resolution and a bit rate of 2.65 Mbps.

Twice a week Kate Fern is supposed to come online and hang out in her online chat. At least that is what her calendar says, but with the lack of updates I am not sure I trust that. Kate Fern is a pretty standard personal amateur site with a cute, girl next door type of babe as its star. Unfortunately like many other sologirl sites, it has stopped updating and no longer seems to be active. What stands though, is a collection of 57 amateur photo sets and 25 videos.

Additionally there is no bonus content to make up for the lack of regular updates.
