First impression

Breath Takers is an erotica site, but their goal is not to be just another porn collection of naked girls, or even to have the 'best' girls. The focus here is instead on taking you on a hot, sensual, provocative fantasy with models that are beautiful and seductive. As the site itself says, they want to bring you the girls of your fantasy in the flesh, and in the absolute highest quality formats.

The tour lets you look at a number of their girls and you'll notice they are all stunningly attractive, with slim bodies, natural curves, and a certain sexy elegance about them. There's definitely a mix of amateurs and more seasoned glamour babes here, and from what I can tell the quality is great.

Our opinion

Break Takers is a nude photography site focused on sensual, full-nude glamour. Their girls come from around the world and quite a few are exclusive to the site as well as being first-timers. Things are classy here, elegant but sexy, understated so that your fantasy can fuel part of the action. Videos are included alongside the abundant galleries and in HD formats. The site has in recent months begun to update with older, nonexclusive galleries, though, and coupled with poor navigation in the members area the site comes up as a decent alternative, but not a great one.

Sexy and Artistic Nude Photographs
The content is impressive. The site definitely has its own vision and they stay true to it rather than just following in the easy footsteps of other erotic sites that have come before it. That might be this site's single advantage over its competitors (of which there are many). The softcore galleries and videos here feel light, clean and elegant. The models bring most of that to the shoot with their beauty, their perfect curves and flawless skin. The directors and photographers bring the other half by knowing how to use light, settings, even wardrobe to bring out the best in every shot. There is full nudity in the scenes, and some girls will tease themselves, running their fingers over shaved pussy lips or even playing with toys in a few instances. But it's more about absorbing the beauty of their nude figures than overt sexuality.

Good Choice of Models
The girls are beautiful, and a number of them are first-timers exclusive to Breath Takers. These are pretty girls from around the globe: petite French girls, cute Americans, curvy Eastern European glamour babes. Most of the girls are white but there are some ethnic models as well - latinas, asians, blacks, etc. Most girls don't have any tattoos or piercings.

Super Hi-Res Photographs & HD Video
The picture galleries offer ultra high resolution photographs 4256x2832 at full size. You also have a standard, smaller resolution to view or download them in - unfortunately nothing in the middle.

The newer half of the videos have HD playback. You can download a MP4 with a 1280x720 screen (8 mbits) or if you prefer a WMV with a 1280x720 screen (5 mbits) - both offer the same 720p HD playback. You also have PSP and iPod ready downloads

Videos can be streamed online in their embedded Flash video player as well. The quality is very good and the resolution is large - 960x540.

Older videos (not HD) can only be saved in MP4s with 720x576 or 640x480 screens (1.5 mbits). They also do not have any streaming options, unfortunately.

Several Updates Each Week
They add 2-3 photo galleries a week to the Breath Takers library and about 2-4 videos each month.

Large Library
Over the years the site has built up a large collection. The numbers they list on the homepage are accurate. At the time of my visit there were 130+ videos and over 55,000 pictures from 117+ models.

Model Index
I always enjoy a little extra information on the girls and Breath Takers gave each a brief bio on their index - a short sentence or two about them as well as few stats like height, breast size and nationality. Below this they list the pictures and videos the girls have appeared in. Most had several sets or videos to their name.

Limited Browsing Tools
You can browse by models, through just the videos, or just the pictures. You can also browse updates in a calendar view. They do not have any tagging or category system, nor a popularity/rating system. The most annoying aspect of navigation comes when browsing galleries. In order to get to the zip files, you have to access the gallery through a model's profile, otherwise you go direct to the web-only gallery with no download options. This, amongst other mistakes, makes browsing quite a hassle at times.

Older Movies Aren't HD
The older movies are not in HD and do not have a streaming Flash video viewing option. You get just the one download format.

Videos Are Short
Most movies run under 5 minutes long. The newer ones are more sensual and artistic, older ones can seem rushed (< 2 minutes) or are just behind the scenes footage from a shoot.

'Stocking Chic' Updates Are Poor Quality
The 'new' Stocking Chic section makes up about half of gallery updates now, and they aren't very good quality. Most look to be nonexclusive and decades old, going by the style of the model's makeup and hair, and the cut of her lingerie. It was disappointing to see such material passed off as if it were the same quality as the site's exclusive galleries.

Conclusion

A decent erotica/glamour site with high res picture galleries, beautiful models, and elegant tastes that make for sexy, provocative content, but lots of problems to overcome.

Breath Takers was an impressive collection of content, and I think they really live up to their description on the homepage - the content here is elegant, sensual, and sexy. Their casting is probably one of their best features as they have found some truly stunning first-timers to undress for the camera, as well as bringing on experienced glamour models from around the world. Most of the content looks great but it was disappointing to see so many of the new gallery updates were of poorer quality material, and navigation was a real hassle for members inside.

Competitors

Breath Takers has some serious competition that you should check out. You might find another deal you want to take advantage of and you'll also get some context about what an erotica site should offer you.

Joymii is a recent favorite. They go beyond softcore to offer boy/girl sex and lesbian sex as well as nude galleries. The quality is very artistic and media formats are top of the line.

X-Art also occasionally steps beyond the realm of nude photography to experiement with very sensual boy/girl and girl/girl scenes, again in HD and high resolutions.

Hegre Art is a giant in the niche, with a huge archive of beautiful models posing nude, stripping, and having their naked bodies rubbed and oiled.

Femjoy stays focused on softcore, with stunning models showing off their fully nude forms in HD and High Resolutions.

I'd also suggest a visit to our Errotica Archives review. This site offers stunning content going back to 2004. Their girls show it all off in truly artistic galleries and HD videos. They include a number of closeups for most sets as well.
