First impression

A pretty simple opening page lets you know what the site has to offer, plain and simple: a huge amount of high quality content on a couple hundered different pages. I've got no problems with that! Now let's see if they live up to expectations.

Our opinion

The main members' page is very simple. At the top, you can select from a list of categories (Amateur, Teen, Lesbian, Gay, etc.) of sites they have in their network. Also on the front page are the 5 newest additions (newest sites, not newest videos) and the most popular sites, along with a small search dialogue and system news. A support and FAQ page are also accessible from the front page.

Clicking on a category brings up a new page with a list of the sites in that category. You can read a brief description of the content available on each site and from there, you just pick one! Choosing a site opens it up in yet another window and a list of the videos available on that site pops up.

Okay, here's where it gets a little bit sloppy. Instead of a network of otherwise unrelated sites, this megasite appears to be a collection of videos that is just randomly distributed over 230+ sites. Now, this wouldn't be so bad if there was some order to the chaos. For instance, if the categories actually had the content promised by their titles. To give you an idea, I saw Ron Jeremy in one of the "Amateur" sites. So that's very annoying. Also, for some reason, some sites will have 25 videos listed and other will have a whopping three. I don't know about you, but I feel cheated here- like they're just adding these "sites" and "categories" to make their collection look bigger than it is. It's extremely frustrating and, if my assessment is correct, also somewhat dishonest.

That being said, I should mention that the content that is actually provided isn't so bad. There's every type of action you could be looking for here (just as promised), it's just harder to find. As for quality, the videos are avilable for download as one file only (in either large or small WMV formats), making for extremely long downloads based only on a couple of pictures and a vague description. Upon closer inspection, you'll find a link to a page that has a lot of thumbnails for each video (something like 1 capture for every 5 seconds). Extremely helpful, but it was kind of difficult to find.

That being said, I still believe that seperating the videos into smaller sections would do wonders for PornAccess. A streaming WMV version of each video is also available at 320X240 and looks pretty good and comes in at a good speed. The streaming format is about the same as the small WMV. I wouldn't suggest blowing it up to full screen (it gets a little fuzzy), but the filesize is much more managable than the large format. The large WMV format is usually a huge file (well over 100MB) and comes in at 512X384 with a very high bitrate (1063kbps). I wouldn't call it DVD quality (which they do), but it looks pretty reasonable at full screen. You'll find most of the B-List studios represented here (don't expect to see any Vivid) and there are plenty of titles to choose from, but none of it is exclusive or even nearly so.

Conclusion

There's no doubt that PornAccess offers enough content of good enough quality to be worth the asking price. However, for my money, I'd have to say that a better and more accurate navigation system, coupled with shorter video clips and thumbnails is completely necessary to make the navigation of the site bearable. However, if you're one of the folks who enjoys scanning through relatively unorganized stuff, hoping to find your "diamond in the rough" as the saying goes, then I think you'll find it here.
