First impression

This site has a simple but very intriguing premise: an inside look at a piercing shop - more particularly, piercings done in intimate places, i.e., the breasts and genitals. I can certainly see this working on many levels. Having a few body mods myself, I find it particularly appealing. I can't wait to have a look inside.

Our opinion

The second you login, you're greeted with a congratulatory message that lets you know just how lucky you are for joining such a marvelous site. It also includes info about a special offer, and lets you know that e-mailing the staff at anytime is quite all right. Clicking a photograph of a pierced vagina with the caption "ENJOY" written across it will take you directly to the member's area.

It would appear to be a safe assumption that they were going for a dark and macabre atmosphere here at The Piercing Room; if that's the case, they've succeeded. In addition to the blood red and black colour scheme and grim imagery, the models are called victims. I love it!

Though dark and foreboding, the member's area is far from complex, and should be easy to browse for even the most novice of computer users. Topping the page is horizontal menu, which includes the following options: Welcome (info for new members, Victims (The model page), Action (Content), Contacts (Customer Support), Links, and previews of upcoming material.

Filling the middle of the page is the site's content, which can be sifted through by buttons at the bottom of the page. There are large still shots from the videos, as well a very brief --no more than a sentence or two-- synopsis.

I really dig how each movie's page is set up. It's nice and neat, and even contains instructions for computer neophytes or those who are drunk and confused. More importantly, you get a paragraph long synopsis. It appears that all the episodes here are seperated in a series of clips, with no option for downloading them in their entirety.

Clicking a button that looks like a camera brings a pop-up menu, containing four video format options: Med-Def WMV (480x360), Hi-Def WMV (640x480), MOV, and iPod. While the camera button is a cute idea, I honestly can't say that I like it. The size of the buttons for each format selection are so small that they could have easily fit on the movie page without cluttering it up. The pop-up menu is pointless, and seems to have been done just so they could use that nifty camera button. Could have been done easier and more user-friendly.

Anyway, the majority of the video formats were of excellent quality, with the MOV file being the real standout. On the other hand, the difference in quality between the medium and high WMV files was night and day. Furthermore, since they vary little difference in file-size, I'd recommend you not waste your time with the medium option, which is only decent and, quite frankly, grainy in full-screen mode.

I honestly found the bulk of what I watched here highly entertaining. While the piercings performed here and the grimaces of pain are definitely quite genuine, that's where the reality ends. The acting is flaky at times, but overall it's pretty damn good. I really got a kick out of the recurring character named Nurse Janey. It's impressive how much they get out of this premise, and believe me -- they milked it for all it's worth, coming up with far more scenarios than I could ever have dreamed up.

The model selection was diverse for such a small amount of women. I saw several different races, from chubby to thin, young to old. Most of these girls looked quite real and that gave the videos a gritty, amateur feel that I just loved. Even the sometimes silly scenarios worked out well, building tension leading up to the moment where the piercing takes place. Again, these piercings are clearly done by a professional and quite real.

In addition to the videos, each scene has its own photo gallery containing a selection of screen caps from the videos. While, quality wise, these better than the videos, they're still quite large, clocking in at a file size of 300 kilobytes and dimensions of 1000x750 pixels!

Conclusion

On the basis of a cool concept and bucket-loads of gritty style, you have to give The Piercing Room kudos; though, it also helps that they have awesome original content to back it up. Unfortunately, there just isn't enough of it at the moment. It even seems they have paused the weekly updates at the moment.

While I'm not sure I'd recommend it right this second --unless you're really in for a piercing fix-- given time to expand its content, I think this site will become be a real winner. The content they do is well-shot and edgy. If you don't mind a small amount of content, then you'll love this awesomely atmospheric site where beauty and pain collide for your ejaculatory pleasure. If not - you may wanna take a rain check.
