First impression

Wasteland has been around for well over 10 years and thus boasts it has the largest BDSM collection on the net. This collection features high definition exclusive bdsm and fetish videos and full length feature films, as well as tens of thousands of high quality photos.

Our opinion

There's a ton of material inside Wasteland! That's to be expected since they've been online since 1995. Quick links include Weekly Updates and Daily Updates and Events. Below these are various menu options, such as: Wasteland Original Movies (200+), Succubus, the Movie, and Into the Mist. (The latter is a collaboration between Wasteland and Pink TV; it's the "world's first 9 episode hardcore adult BDSM soap opera.")

There are well over 100 videos listed under Wasteland Movie Theater. Here, you'll find 10 minute videos to full length feature films. Streaming Feature Films contain 4 feature length films a week from AEBN. Normally you have to pay to view these, but as another perk to Wasteland, you can watch these 4 for free. Additionally, there are links to Japanese Shibari Movies, Streaming Video Vault, Wasteland's Hentai World, and Wasteland's Gaming Arcade.

Wasteland also offers the ability to watch their movies on your TV through a special digital player. There are also menu options that include Original Images, Dark Garden Photo Gallery, Sensuous Sadie's Parlor, Asian Underground Images, House of Japanese Bondage, various fiction, interviews, scene profiles, give-aways, educational materials, Wasteland Community, forums, and live chat.

As you can expect in such a premiere bdsm site, you'll see plenty of bondage, nipple clamps, flogging, violet wanding, clothesline, knife play, blindfolds and more. Masters and Mistresses, who are expert in all aspects of bdsm, dominate mostly women submissives, but on occasion you'll see a male submissive. The setting is very dark, as befitting a dungeon scene. One master was wearing a gas mask which added to the mystery and foreboding of the dungeon setting. Mistresses wear lots of fetish wear, such as corsets, high heels, latex, etc.

You can stream or download the videos in various formats: Windows Media (HD and slower connection), Quicktime HD, iPod, iPhone, and Flash Streaming. The videos open to a 640x360 (928Kbps) or 1280x720 (2128Kbps) very good quality screen, depending upon the format you use. The movies are divided into two parts, each of which is several minutes in length. The older movies open in a smaller screen - 240x180 (197Kbps) and come in Broadband and Quicktime. Each of these episodes contain a good sized photo gallery. (I'd say there's at least 50 photos in each of the galleries I viewed). These pictures open to 1198x1800 pixels, with some up to 1500x1500 and are zip downloadable. The older pictures are smaller (i.e., 380x580).

Wasteland Original Photos contain around 70 galleries (not zip downloadable) that have accompanying videos listed in the Original Movies section. Unfortunately, they don't seem to correspond chronologically with what's listed in the movie section, and there are no links to the movies themselves. These pictures open to 803x1200 pixels and are very good quality. Below these are the photo archives that do not have an accompanying movie. There are around 150 of these galleries, with their pictures opening to various sizes, such as 750x499 and 932x668 pixels.

As to how often the site updates, there are no dates noted on the new uploads. However, viewing the links in the Weekly Updates, there are indeed several updates per week. Additionally, the Daily Updates and Events features a new gallery every day and a daily cartoon, in addition to announcements of upcoming events.

Conclusion

If you're in to BDSM, Wasteland would be no waste to your wallet. There's so much content that I don't think you could see it all in a single month; and that doesn't take in to account that the site update several times a week. The quality of both the videos and photos are very good and show lots of bdsm. Navigation is fairly simple, despite having so much content and categories for videos being somewhat general. Plus, there's a handy video tutorial to help you get the most out of your membership. Wasteland seems genuinely interested in making sure their members are satisfied. You can see it in their responses to members' queries, as well as coming up with new and unique offerings. All in all, Wasteland is a highly recommended bdsm site.
