First impression

Proudly etched across the top of the Mikes X Files webpage reads "Entertaining Adults Since 1998". Looking over this tour page, my instinct is to take Mike's word for it--the site doesn't look like it's had a makeover since launch! The graphics may not be flashy and the organization of the tour may be lacking, but it's clear enough what's on offer here: real amateur barefoot girls in a variety of soft and hardcore sets and videos, produced or procured by the site's webmaster and owner, the foot fetishist Mike. What Do We Think of Mikes X Files

I think it's rather important to emphasize that Mikes X Files has been a labor of love since it first went online. Mike just loves feet and naked women and since he figured out how to make his own website in 1998 he's been maintaining it himself. He's never stopped adding new content, however at some point he switched from adding his own exclusive content to picking pictures and movies he likes from other sites and sharing them. His only rule is that the women get barefoot, other than that he likes to share a taste of everything, as you'll see when looking over the category links: Nylons and Pantyhose, Cute Panties and Socks, Multi-girl Sets, Girls of Texas, Self Toe Sucking and Canadian Girls.

The content that Mike has shot himself for the site is very amateur and stars very amateur girls. Not all of the girls were lookers here, some were pretty busted. It's pretty much what I expected from such an authentic amateur site. The media is as varied as I had expected, too. He's shooting this content with consumer cameras. He isn't a professional photographer, just a porn hobbyist. The gives the shots a unique look and feel, but means its a bit of flea market wandering through his galleries. You'll find all sorts of resolutions (960x1200, 800x1000, 575x720, etc). Quality is never amazing but never horrible, usually. The sets can be browsed through online but there weren't any zip file downloads, unfortunately for the original content. Some of the new content from other sites is zipped though.

Usability is rather rough overall here. Again, this is a hobby site managed by Mike. He doesn't have a crew of employees managing his site. Its basic design and functionality can get in the way as a result of its simplicity, now that the site is so large especially. Getting around can be clumsy or confusing. Media options are also quite limited, and there are no streaming options on the site.

The videos you find will range widely as well, but are generally in quite sharp image qualities, especially if it's a Windows Media file. Some of the resolutions you'll find in that format include 480x360 and 638x480. Some movies will offer MP4s (iPod-ready) and MPEG file formats, too. These also look good to great in terms of playback quality. Most of the movies are actually from other sites that Mike has partnered with in some fashion. A lot of the movies are actually content from other sites. That means only a portion of Mike's site is exclusive and original material, the rest can be found elsewhere. Mostly his photos are exclusive (if not labeled otherwise).

I think it is safe to say that this site is going to appeal to a specific crowd of amateur and foot fetish enthusiasts to whom overall quality isn't as important as the fact that its REAL amateur material or good fetish action.

Final Thoughts on Mikes X Files

Mikes X Files has a lot of on-topic raw amateur content to offer. I liked his hands-on approach and the very authentic shoots he's added. The foot-focused action was still diverse and I liked that too. Unfortunately Mike hasn't been adding his own stuff for a while, and the updates now consist of content picked from sites like ATK Hairy and Sapphic Erotica.

I think the site will appeal to those really into amateur and homemade barefoot content, but it won't be such a hit for those who aren't.
