First impression

There's no doubting that Michael Ninn, as a website, places itself very far along the art/erotica scale. In fact, it's so artistic here as to be nearly worthy of a major gallery showing. Before you label them as overly arrogant or pretentious, though, spend another minute looking over some of the samples and view some of the beautiful babes they have to share with you in glamour soft core spreads, lesbian sex scenes, and very explicit hardcore.

If you don't know Ninn, then let me give you some industry info: he's won more than 100 adult film awards in the last twenty years, he's a leader within the industry, and he's a man who is never satisfied with his work, no matter how painstakingly he pours over and invests himself into it. We're entering the domain of a man who has more than one hundred adult industry awards form two decades in the field, a guy whose work is described as "beautiful, sophisticated in style." In this library of content you'll have unlimited access to his unique portfolio, which stands out for its quality even among the best erotica libraries. There are some drawbacks, like inconsistent media options, but on the whole Michael Ninn has something totally original to offer fans of erotica and glamour hardcore - and that's not a common thing to come across.

"How amazing women are and how beautiful"

Michael Ninn is an artist, and he has earned that label in more than two decades of shooting erotica and adult entertainment. His vision starts with respect for the girls themselves; he admires their femininity, the graceful curves of their bodies, their delicate features and vulnerability. And he's under no pretenses that what they are doing when they get in front of the camera is a simple or easy thing: "It's easy to stand on the safe side of the camera," he says referring to himself and his own work with sincere humility.

When someone of Ninn's artistic abilities with light and cameras comes into erotica with such reverence for his models, it's hard to imagine the results being anything but incredible. And indeed, the results are fantastic. What took my attention more than anything else is that his vision isn't a safe one, with pretty girls in lingerie flirting and showing a nipple or two while teasing. He is not afraid to fully embrace sex and sexuality in his work, and to that end there is everything from those softcore glamour sets to all out hardcore sex, even with multiple partners. Closeups of penetrations and studies of every part of a model's body are commonplace, as are the multiple lesbian videos and galleries.

He works with a mix of glamour models and popular porn stars - Faye Reagan and Tanya James are two that have been featured recently and are shown frequently in the members area and promotional materials.

Gorgeous download options

Pretty much all of the modern updates at Michael Ninn will come to you in gorgeous 1080p HD mp4 files with 1920x1080 screen resolutions (7+ mbits). There are also 720p HD mp4 files with 1280x720 screen resolutions (3.5 mbits), as well as DivX and iPod/mobile-ready alternatives. The HD stuff looks great, and all of the content is produced at incredible levels of artistic and technical accuracy, but most of the movies added 2012 or earlier are in small SD-only download formats. These SD-only downloads are disappointing for the scenes that don't offer HD. This is the sort of porn you really want to see in the best resolutions possible.

Picture galleries are also a little underwhelming - they use heavy softening filters and airbrushing in most, which looks almost amateur at times. You can save a gallery in a zip file archive or browse through them online, with most images being 1000x1500 pixels in their High Res setting. That's a good size, and the pictures look good, but it isn't super high resolution like some other erotica sites offer and what this quality of content deserves to be viewed in and again, those filters/airbrushing used after the fact have almost ruined many of the images.

Members area gets a much needed redesign

I understand that these high-art erotic collections have an important image and brand to convey and that the website's design is a big part of how they do that, but they really went too far in choosing style over functionality in their old members aera. Links were small, text dark, there were no browsing tools. MET Art recently took over running the site, however, and now the members area has been totally redesigned and improved. It still has much in common with the old design but looks fantastic and has lots of great features for sorting, browsing and searching.

Regular updates and a big library

There is a big library here, over 1,000 videos and as many galleried and they are updating frequently. Every 3-4 days they usually add a new video and gallery set.

Conclusion

If we only look at the artistic and erotic qualities of his work, Michael Ninn is a living legend. His website lives up to the same standards in 2013, but the older updates aren't usually available in the HD and high-res settings used today. But I'd be lying if I said the quality of Ninn's erotic hardcore didn't carry those older updates, even if they aren't HD. For fans of original and explicit erotica Michael Ninn's collection is a must visit.

Competitors
