First impression

The above average BrainPass Network + lots of naked girls banging each other = a match made in heaven. I can expect all the great things I've expected from BrainPass in the past, all wrapped up in a pretty package that includes a bunch of girls with strapons. Someone should make that wrapping paper.

Get ready for some six degrees of seperation, porn-style, folks: Girly Gang Bang is the name of a video series produced by Doghouse Digital, a production company which recently joined up with adult web content megasite BrainPass to distribute its wares on the web. So what does that mean for potential members? I'm not really sure, actually. I just wanted to show you how smart I am. About porn. Seriously, folks, this is all I know. But let's get into the site and hopefully we'll all learn a little something. About ourselves. About each other. And about girls and the gangbangs that changed their lives...

Okay, seriously. This is a BrainPass site. We've reviewed all of them and they're all more or less the same. Take a look at our reviews for Peter North or DoghouseDigital and you'll get an idea of the layout. For those too lazy to click on those links, I'll repeat myself for about the 12th time here. This site, like most other sites on this large and growing network, is heavy on exclusive and original content- primarily video. The basic layout includes a semi-cluttered but quite navigable front page includes a navigation bar with links to all the pages on the site, links to the latest videos and a poll. There are no ads (except for a link to their store area) and there's even a place for a diary- probably a holdover from the templates for personal sites on the network (SweetAmyLee, ChristineYoung, etc.). All in all the layout and navigation is professional and pretty easy to figure out, albeit a tad on the crowded side.

Clicking on the videos link from the navbar brings up the 5 latest videos on the site. The layout here is as good as it gets- you're treated to several thumbs of each video and choose from there whether you'd like to see high or low speed video or the photos from the set. Choose a video preference and you're off to the races- each video has its own page with a couple more screenshots and your choice of 6 total video qualities (broken down below).

The videos are seperated into segments of about 5 minutes long each at the most. This can get a bit tiresome with the longer videos... 12 parts is a bit much to download one at a time. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a high quality full- length download available, but alas. The video production quality on here ranges from decent to standard (no, I'm not sure which is lower). There are rarely big blunders like equipment in the shots and the lighting is always sufficient (if flat). There's not a whole lot of creativity bursting forth in these vids though. Pretty much toeing the line and not really pushing the envelope or thinking outside the box. They should make that their primary action item to produce a higher level of synergy and increase the scope of their market palpability. Man, if you're still buying this business-speak bullshit by now, downloading porn should certainly not be your top priority. The girls are cute (all the BrainPass girls make appearances in these all-girl vids) but not quite as varied as you may like. Some are Canadian and have an adorable French accent, but all are basically of European decent. Not a whole lot of diversity in these gangbangs. The format of the videos is pretty much just that a few girls gang up on one, though it's really more of a free-for-all by the time it's done. I was very disappointed to find out the following: A.) Only 7 of the videos at the time of this writing are actually gangbangs. The rest are two or three girl scenes. B.) Almost all of these videos are available elsewhere on the BrainPass Network and C.) The site hasn't been updated in a month and there are not scheduled updates on the horizon. Basically, it appears as if this site is a repository for the BrainPass vids that just happen to fit the domain name. Kind of takes the wind out of my sails, so to speak.

And, because I am lazy, here is the exact same info on the BrainPass vids from one of my previous reviews: The production quality of the videos is pretty normal by today's professional adult video standards: nothing fancy in terms of lighting or location, but you don't often see some random dude sitting in the corner or an empty bag of chips on the bed or anything. The video is mostly gonzo and maybe some tripod stuff and off-camera sound equipment would help round it out a little better, but overall there are few complaints. As with other Brainpass sites, there are six total video quality options: 2 high speed and 3 low speed. The high speed formats include a WMV 228kbps (352x240 resolution), an MPG 650k (352x240) and a WMV 700kbps (480x360) version. The smaller WMV looks decent at its natural size and is acceptable when blown up a little bit and the MPG version is equally viewable, with little comrpession artifacting at smaller sizes. But for my money, it's the WMV700 format you should stick with for full-screen viewing- it's really quite nice looking and only incurs minor to moderate pixelization at full screen. Of course, you have to wait much longer for it to buffer or download, but if you're an archiver, this is your format. The low speed formats are about what you would expect. A WMV56k version that looks like a stamp-sized (240x180) animated .GIF with a slightly better framerate, a WMV128k version of the same size with a little less compression, and an MPG350 at 240x160 with a slightly better framerate than the previous two. The low speed versions are what I would consider emergency only formats in general. And if you need to view the low speed ones full time, maybe you should invest in some high speed internet. As usual, the photos are simply screencaps from the videos. Good pretty much only for extensive thumbnailing and sending as greeting cards via e-mail.

The bonus features on the site are pretty limited for the most part- a store where you can buy sex toys and videos and whatnot, a forum for every BrainPass site except for this one, a handy network update page and the biggest bonus draw to the site: access to over 200 bonus sites, including the rest of the BrainPass network. Bonus feeds include content from Holio, DVDTV and plenty of other big name third party providers. Plenty of quality content here- and it's all free!

Conclusion

For a BrainPass site, this one is a disappointment. Hardly anything original to speak of, slow on the updating and a waste of a good idea at this point. Hopefully this is an indication that the site is just starting out and not a sign that BrainPass's commitment to quality sites is slipping. The content is good and there's some stuff to keep you occupied, but it's all pretty much available elsewhere so why join this site instead of one of the other BrainPass sites? This just seems redundant. None of it screams "Girly Gang Bang." But, boy, do I want it to.
