First impression

Shut yer yapper and I will tell you about Yappo! Yappo’s tagline is “adult movies on your terms,” meaning you download and watch whatever you want to see from the movies found on this video-on-demand site, you know, on your own terms.

To become a Yappo member and get access to thousands of adult movies, you buy minutes via credit card, check or phone. Following your purchase, you will be able to log into Yappo and search for the movie you would like to view; you can stream or download this movie of your desire once you have found it. You can also pay a flat rental fee to download said movie to your hard drive and keep it there for seven or thirty days (obviously, these rental movies are protected by DRM). And that’s about it. Oh, and there’s also a gay version of Yappo, but it works roughly the same as the straight version, so we’ll focus our energies on the hetero Yappo.

Our opinion

Yappo has an extremely impressive selection of movies. Yappo stays current with new releases and usually adds something new to the site every few days. It should also be noted that the company that owns Yappo produces their own reality sites ‘n’ DVDs — content from these websites and DVDs appears on Yappo before they can be seen anywhere else.

Yappo’s archive contains over thirty-two thousand scenes in over twelve thousand DVDs. You must have Windows Media Player installed on your PC to watch these movies. The movies on Yappo are available for streaming or downloading in several speeds based on various connections (dialup, DSL, etc.). It should be noted that the time it takes for a video to buffer counts against the minutes you’ve purchased, so be careful which speed you choose — don’t choose a speed that your connection cannot handle lest you waste valuable minutes waiting for videos to buffer.

Tip! If you’re streaming the high definition movies, set your player to two hundred percent for the best possible viewing. The quality of the movies tends to fluctuate thanks to the fact that some of the flicks were not filmed in high-quality formats; for the most part, though, playback is quite nice. Most DVDs have a full-length option, but they’re also split into scenes for folks who only want to watch bits and pieces of the movies.
