First impression

Thug Overload has a rather non descriptive tour that has plenty of ebony eye candy, but not a lot of explanation. It turns out that this is a video on demand site featuring black gay porn. They specialize in black thugs, those well trimmed bodies, lean muscle, and badass attitude combining into one delicious package. They might be shooting at each other on the street any other time, but for right now they're going to be shooting their loads into some sweet assholes.

Our opinion

I'm going to say right off the bat that I absolutely hate how they have their movie listings setup. It comes through an XML stream, and requires you to scroll through box covers on an awkward feeling setup to see what they're offering. Of course I haven't found a flash navigation scheme that I've ever liked. There are 14 DVDs in total that tend to feature 4 scenes on average, or about 90 minutes of action. There is no indication of whether they're adding new videos to the site.

You can watch as much or as little as you like, although little is more like it with a collection size like this. The video pages still have the Flash slider of videos on them. You can choose three different streaming options, low, medium, or high. The high is shown at 960x540 and 800 kbps, the medium is 640x480 and 800 kbps, and the low is 360x180 and 500 kbps. The video quality does not look good – regular Flash encoding seems to have been used, which makes the videos look a bit pixelated and not smooth at all. You do not have any choice but a full movie view either, although you can jump around and stop watching when you want to.

There's a model directory that links to the photos and videos that the models are featured in, and you can also email them through the site. The photo sets are offered free, so they don't use your VOD minutes. Once again they're using a flash interface, this time for the actual galleries. Color me annoyed. The set sizes are small, but the photos are decent quality at 720x480. There are 14 galleries in total.

Conclusion

Thug Overload is just not worth it at this point. The collection size is very weak in the gay VOD arena, even if it is a specific niche, and the interface is not conductive to easy browsing. It might look flashy, but it's really just damn annoying.
