First impression

Hegre Art is where famed erotica photographer Petter Hegre unleashes all of his talent and uses all of his fame and connections to find beautiful women to shoot in beautiful, artistic photographs and videos. The man has not only technical skills manipulating lighting, but a truly unique gift for discovering the thrilling, erotic streak in each of his girls. With thousands of images and hundreds of movies, loads of special features, and promises of absolutely top quality media options this site is always one I look forward to visiting.

I'll be signing up yet again to see how the site has been over the past year or so, and to see if it's still as stunning and impressive as it was on our last visit.

Our opinion

You might recognize the name Petter Hegre if you've spent any time in publications or websites run by Playboy. He is one of their favorite photographers, and his name is stamped on a huge volume of their stuff. I love his work there, but he is working with the Playboy "vision" when he shoots for them. At Hegre Art, he gets to shoot his own ideas, his own vision, and his own understanding of erotica. As it turns out, it is a very good understanding and he communicates it in an impressive, impacting visual manner.

Is Hegre Art a porn site? Is it an art site? I think it is both, and I'm not copping out or being lazy. The material manages to stimulate and provoke both sides of the brain, as it were. There is a certain aesthetic beauty and pleasure taken from the images, as they are arranged with incredible textures and color, truly inspiring use of shadow and light, and a definite idea or emotion is communicated in each image. Petter isn't just taking dirty pictures, he is really doing something special with each of the girls, creating something that could easily hang on an art gallery's walls.

On the erotic side of things, there's no denying that it's the larger of the two components. We are here to see the nude figures of women, to see their gravity-defying breasts, hard round nipples, smooth, shaved bodies and tight buttocks. For the most part Hegre keeps safely softcore, with just one model undressed and posing. She will touch herself for emphasis but not really for pleasure. There is no raunchy masturbation or insertions. It's more about the promise of such intimacy in the sets, and it is one hundred times more pleasurable and exciting. I think I was left a bit in wonder at this effect. I've reviewed many porn sites, I've seen other softcore galleries that are similar in content and theme, but Petter's art just has an extra, intangible excitement, a sort of intoxicating visual perfume that surrounds and entices. This is his magic touch, and that magic touch is why he is, quite possibly, the most in-demand erotic photographer on the planet right now.

Beyond getting naked the girls are sometimes oiled. They are sometimes bound in ropes. They sometimes pose with other beautiful girls, sometimes handfuls of them at a time. There is quite a bit of variety in settings, theme, costumes, and of course girls. He shoots European beauties from Prague, busty and darkly attractive Latinas from Buenos Aires, American blondes from the midwest, beautiful Japanese beauties. Most of the girls are amateurs he discovers or that discover him.

There are two main areas of the site aptly called "galleries" and "films". This is where the bulk of Hegre's work is found.

The galleries average 50 to 150 images. These are not being shot in 60.5 megapixels. The sets can be browsed online in a number of slideshow and gallery settings. Images range in size from small to XXX Large. The biggest images are an incredible 6583x8699 pixels. These are huge. The 'large' sized images are 1514x2000 pixels, which is still gigantic. You can browse through the sets online or save all of the pictures in a gallery at once in a convenient zip file that is provided.

The movies come in a similar array of options. You have a choice between more than 4 formats. The best options are the QuickTime and Windows Media HD options. These both have resolutions of 1280x720 pixels. Their bit rates are around 4 mbits/s both. They look incredible, and every bit as crisp and well produced as Hegre's wonderful galleries. There are also 640x360 resolution downloads in QuickTime and Windows Media formats and DivX files, too. These have bit rates of around 1.5 mbits/s and look great as well, just smaller. Other formats are available for mobile phones, and even Playstations. Most movies can be streamed online in a Flash video player as well.

Moving away from these two areas you'll find two more awaiting you: Travels and Massage.

Travels are sets shot on location in various beautiful corners of the world: the emerald-green waters of the golf of Mexico, the stone beachheads of Catalonia, beautiful, steep and ancient Capri. He meets one or more girls at these locales and offers you multiple days of pictures and video clips. Each day has a write up in journal format from Petter. There are pictures and information on the locales as well. These travel-logues are exciting and very much a magazine type feature that members really enjoy. Unfortunately, the last trip was made in 2009 and none have been done in 2010.

The Massage section may be stealing the thunder from Travels now. In Massage you get, quite obviously, sensual and erotic massages. Mostly it is girls undressed, oiled, and rubbed down by female masseuses. There was a recent addition of a man getting a Japanese penis worship massage, which was thrilling. Expect lots of oil and long, drawn out episodes that can run 45 minutes long, or even over an hour.

The Massage videos are available in two formats: High and Low quality M4Vs. These have 1440x1080 and 980x552 resolutions and look amazing. They both have 5 mbits/s bit rates on average.

Updates are made daily to the galleries, films are added regularly as well as the massage videos.

Conclusion

Hegre Art is a truly remarkable site, and one of (if not the) very best Erotica and nude photography sites running. With more than 9 years running and a constant stream of daily updates still being made, this massive site is an excellent option and a great pick for fans of this niche and beautiful girls in general.
