Our opinion

Joy Bear is the porn site described by UK Journalist Kate Spencer as "empowerment porn" that features "strong women having a dirty great good time" and that won the Good For Her award at the 2013 Feminist Porn Awards. It did this by reimagining what hardcore porn could be, turning away from objectifying women and cheesy reality scripts and instead turning towards real-life sex fantasies where women are in charge, empowered and wet with desire.

Justin Santos is the man that founded Joybear and he did it shortly after winning a one-off reality TV show competition making erotic films for Playboy. The vision here has always been creating sex-postive erotic films that are as good for Him as they are for Her. New Woman magazine agrees: "He'll love it and so will you, filthy girl."

The site is not new but it has underwent quite a few changes since our visit last year. The design is new and elegant, fitting since the Joybear produces high-end and premium quality erotic content here. Unfortunately there has been some collateral damage as a result of the redesign: they have removed all of the photography sets and are now focused 100% on film.

The full length films here run around 90-minutes long and each has 5 to 6 individual sex scenes in them. Each film tells a longer story that ties each of these couplings together, from PhD candidates studying how a woman best gets herself off by watching and having lots of very hot sex to roomies learning to share everything in very erotic threesomes and lesbian sex experiences.

Each movie can be streamed or downloaded in Full HD (1920x1080; 9 mbits) and the production quality is everything you'd expect from a film studio that calls its content premium. The camera work, settings, makeup and wardrobe and the sex itself are all done very well and together it makes for one very sexy experience.

They don't date scenes, only those scheduled to be put online, but going back it looks like a new scene from a film is added once every 7 to 10 days. They add one scene after another until an entire new film is up, then start on a new film.

Santos does most of the production in the UK or Europe and most of his girls are gorgeous English porn stars like Stella Cox, Ava Dalush and Sienna Day. But there are babes from the continent as well, including Daria Glower and Claudia Rossi. Each looks stunning whether she's masturbating, having lesbian sex, or giving over the reigns of power to two men that will fuck her at the same time.

Conclusion

Joybear is a very high-end site with good erotic productions that both halves of the couple will enjoy. The beautiful models, the erotic fantasies, and the overall fantastic quality of production here make it a site worth checking out if you like erotic hardcore.
