Intro promises

Ah, Vintage Taboo is like a breath of fresh air from an early time in history. The tour area lets you know that risqué behavior is timeless, and they are bringing you the snapshots and provocative posing that took place as far back as the 1890’s up to 1970. You may think the porn movement just started when the internet was invented, or maybe you recall the dirty magazines you could find under your Dad’s mattress or hidden in the bathroom cabinet, but the ladies here will show you that hot, steamy sex has always been lived out... and captured on film. They promise you’ll receive both photographs and videos from this site.

First impression

Vintage Taboo's main page has me feeling nostalgic and so looking forward to the membership area. I’m always amazed at just how uninhibited people have always been when it comes to their sexual appetites, and I’m sure many of the folks you’ll see in the old footage are long since gone to that happy place in the sky, but their legacy is continuing through this website.

They have just thought of every way in presenting the material here, broken down into decades of delight, they offer oval sized pictures that look like something a woman might have carried secretly in the locket she wore around her neck, just as a memory of a very special day for her. History is wonderful, and sexual history is so stimulating.

You’re given categories such as, pre 1920’s, 1920’s-1930’s, 1940’s – 1950’s, 1960’s-1970’s, The Stars, Burlesque, Native Girls and Illustrations. Since I’m a child of the 60’s myself, I think I’ll start there to see just how wild things were when I was still in diapers! Well, the layout of liaisons continue when you open up the headers, they have now sub categorized things for this area into BJ’s, Cheesecake, Boobs, Derriere’s, Fetish, Girlfriends, Hardcore, Hose, Spanking, and, Catfights. It’s great to see the same sort of material that we are so interested in now, being done all those years ago. Of course the spankings I got in the 60’s were nothing stimulating, but I bet it’s a whole different ball game here.

This is just an all around awesome site. Going into the picture section many of the shots remind me of the old Polaroids, with the white border and black and white film. The thing that struck me when going through the sets was the realness they held, granted, I’m sure they were posed for just as they are now, 40+ years later, but yet, they were just more believable. The dark stockings, garter belts, sometimes even girdles, etc. it’s all here and it’s all hot. They don’t blow these images up to huge proportions, which is a good idea, with the film being as it was back then I’m sure a fair amount of distortion would take place, but you do get a nice size of 591x753 pixels. You open categories to find what I thought were gallery entries leading me to the usual layout with thumbnails, but instead a got a single full-size image with a next button leading me to the next picture in that gallery. Definitely not the best way to do this. This together with the many different categories and sub categories made getting a total count of it virtually impossible.

All movies are in .MOV format, played in QuickTime, and all of them are download only. .MOV isn’t my favorite format, but the quality of play was actually pretty nice, and I think I enjoyed the footage so much, I didn’t even mind that it wasn’t offered in different choices. The play time varied in the different clips that I watched, which is understandable, but as an approximate number, you’re looking at mostly 11+ minutes of viewing time. The video size I found the most of was 640x426, so you do get some nice clarity.

Just in case you might have a collection of Vintage Taboo type of material hidden in the attack or maybe buried away in the closet somewhere, this site would be very interested in buying or renting what you have, if it’s not something already in their own collection.

Conclusion

Vintage Taboo is a site I really appreciated, I spent more time here than I normally would, just because I enjoyed the nostalgia of it and the way it just seems unthinkable at times that folks this far back in history were just as horny and just as uninhibited as people can be now. We don’t think about the sites we see everyday as being anything out of the ordinary, but it’s hard to imagine our grandparents or great grandparents doing things like that... how naughty!
A few minor issues don't ruin the overall impression of a decent retro site offering insight into the world of pre-Internet erotica.
