First impression

Butch Dixon has me excited right from the get go, mainly because it gives the impression of a site being run by someone who is truly passionate about the niche they’re working in. It’s all about hairy men and muscle bears. The main theme is on mature bears and the content variety looks impressive from the tour alone.

Butch Dixon’s members area is pretty straightforward and to the point, plain without sacrificing usability. The navigation is handled by a simple sectional link bar and a search box. The latest content from each section is given, so you get a good idea right from the beginning as to the type of action you’re going to get at Butch Dixon. At the very bottom of the main area, upcoming episodes are listed.

Our opinion

I am definitely liking what I’m seeing as I’m scrolling through the collection. These guys come in all different shapes and sizes, but they’re definitely either all older or sporting rather impressive hair. Other than those two parameters these guys are running the gamut of looks and I love the variety, as well as the amount of muscle bears hanging out. You can browse the entire collectoin of guys through the model directory.

Butch Dixon has a thousand+ picture sets and 575 hardcore videos. Updates are provided at least once a week, with photo galleries getting the lion’s share of updates. The video pages are pretty basic but the format selection is great. There are full scene downloads in WMV, MOV and MP4. The best quality video is the WMV and MP4 which are shown at 1920x1080 and 7 mbps. Both hardcore and solo videos look great, the sex feels natural and the chemistry is real throughout. I love it when the content quality and the technical quality is perfect. The other video qualities are shown at 1280x720, 640x360 and 960x540 for the mac compatible shots and 428x240 and 960x540 and 640x360 for the other WMVs. Although the older videos aren’t as high of quality as the HD offerings, you are going to be well served by those as well. Not all formats are offered on all videos. You’ll see some pretty extensive descriptions about the action, written by the webmaster/photographer. There’s some pretty great commentary here and I’m happy to see it included.

You’re getting plenty of fresh photo galleries at Butch Dixon and the men are looking mighty fine here. The photos aren’t the biggest in the world at 680x1024 but the photography is absolutely amazing and you could not ask for better muscled men and bears. Slideshows allow you to sit back and enjoy the delicious ride and there’s also a zip download, although you have to hunt for it down at the bottom of the gallery. The typical photo set has over 100 jaw dropping images for your enjoyment.

The photo and video section both have bonus content featuring a good sized collection of content that runs along the same gay niches as Butch Dixon. Judging by the verbiage in both sections, these are non exclusive videos and photo sets. I’m very happy to see an on-niche bonus and if you have time between Butch Dixon updates you’ll definitely want to check these out.

Conclusion

I don’t think there’s anything about Butch Dixon I didn’t like. He’s spot on with the content, encouraging top quality, masterful photography and real sexual passion. The personality of the site comes through with lengthy descriptions that let you see a bit of the behind the scenes thought process and finally the bonuses are worth a damn.
