First impression

I don't know about Gay Bears Hardcore being the “web's premier hairy gay site”, especially because the guys on the tour are either more hunky or not hairy enough. I want to see big, husky bears with absolute carpets of body hair getting hot and horny for my enjoyment. We'll see if they end up fixing that once we get inside the site, however.

The member's area has a very network template feel to it, with the site logo shoved up in the corner, taking away the one bit of personality to the site. There's a navigation bar that is split between Gay Bears Hardcore options and network and bonus options. The latest updates and most popular are on the main page, and you can also choose to navigate the site using a keyword search or model directory.

Our opinion

Gay Bears Hardcore really doesn't look like it's hitting the niche head on. Yeah the guys have some body hair but the body type overall doesn't look quite right and I'm just not getting a very bear like impression from many of these guys.

You get 128 videos and 170 photo sets at Gay Bears Hardcore. It does seem like most, if not all of these videos are non-exclusive DVDs split into a few different parts. On top of that, the site only updates twice a month so they're not winning any awards for updates either.

Gay Bears Hardcore's video pages are nicely designed with a Flash video player right up top so you can get to the streaming as quickly as possible. A description underneath introduces you to the background and the scene, there's a video length line and links to the models. You can see the associated photo set or add the sets to your favorites. Near the bottom of the page you have clip and full download options in a variety of qualities and the bottom of the video page gives you the photo sets.

The video options are very extensive and give you WMV and MP4 options in a variety of qualities. The lowest quality is given at 320x240 and 361 kbps, the medium is 400x300 and 763 kbps and the high is 640x480 and 1.5 mbps. The production value is average and the quality of the videos is a bit below average. Only the WMV formats can be downloaded in clips and full scene – with both MP4s you need to get a full download only.

It's easy to get to the photo sets since you just need to keep on scrolling underneath the video options, but you can get to the pictures in their own section if you need. The photos are a mix of screencaps and actual photo sets with no gallery markings letting you know which is which prior to entering the gallery. The average photo size is 720x544 with average quality. You can download the photos with a zip download or use a multiple speed slideshow to check it out. The photo sets are pretty big with an average of 300 photos per set.

Gay Bears Hardcore has a number of bonus sections. The first is the network sites, which consists of other sites that this company runs. There are 11 sites in the gay and shemale niches represented here, but you aren't really going to find much more bear porn here. The bonus site section is filled with third party feeds, with 31 in total. Finally there's a bonus content section that has a large amount of non-exclusive bonuses and more third party content.

Conclusion

Gay Bears Hardcore just misses the mark completely. Most of their bears don't really fall into the bear category – there's a few that are close but not close enough. The video quality is below average and pretty much all of the content is non-exclusive, if not all of them.
