Answer: Internet is, for me, the way to freedom and independence. Explicite Art is my house. The members are my guests, and I receive orders from no one here.
Question: How did you come into the adult genre?
Answer: I was a youth novel writer and a documentary director for French TV. And, at the age of 35 (10 years ago), I decided to quit all that and to work full time as a pornographer. It was a passionate choice.
Question: What are your views regarding the niches you cover?
Answer: I try to satisfy most of the demands from my members and deliver the widest variety I can in the content I shoot. Answer: Creativity, personal involvement, obsession for quality and true pleasure. I am not an industrial porn webmaster. I am a craftsman. I shoot and edit the scenes, I draw the design, I personally answer my members.
Question: I noticed that Explicite Art has various themes, how do you choose them?
Answer: I try to shoot a different scene every time and never do the same thing twice. I talk with the models. We try to imagine a situation that we both enjoy.
Question: The videos at Explicite Art have actual stories. Who comes up with them?
Answer: I do. I love to write.
Question: How often do you shoot photoshoots?
Answer: I update often, so I need to shoot every week - usually during the weekend.
Question: Do you work with different photographers?
Answer: Sometimes, during the shooting of my big films, I have to hire a photographer. But all the photos and videos are shot by myself, except for the making of the photos.
Question: Explicite Art is renowned for its sensually gorgeous models. How do you choose models for the site?
Answer: I choose passionate girls willing to do this for pleasure. I don't like to work with professional girls, like Czech or Hungarian girls, because they do that for the money and their pleasure and emotion are faked. Most of the girls I work with are Parisian students.

Answer: They are faithful and passionate. Some of them have been members for four years. They write to me. They stay with us, and we have a personal dialog by email.
Question: Is there anything that you dislike about the members?
Answer: When they act like barbarians. For instance, when some of them take a one month membership, download all the content as fast as they can with specialized software and then write to ask for a refund pretending they are not satisfied.
Question: What's John B. Root's next step?
Answer: Make more money with my site in order to spend more money in the content and to open new original and creative adult sites. I have lots of ideas.
