First impression

Welcome to the edge of erotica. That's the line they carry at The Life Erotic, and the images scattered across the previews on their tour reinforce that. They've tried to meld together the aesthetic and artistic qualities of vanilla erotica with edgier, more explicit action. The girls in these previews offer closeups of cream-soaked fingers burrowing into their wet pussies, even go as far as masturbating themselves with sex toys. From what I've seen on the tour, this explicit action doesn't totally overpower the artistic sensibilities, as the photographers have used great light and settings to create interesting photos full of texture and creative balance.

Our opinion

One of the things they said on their tour is that they don't work with the same modeling agencies that other sites use. Supposedly they find talent 'on the edge', or maybe girls that aren't all that in to the industry. Naturally I had to find out if this was really the case, as it would be a big plus if it were true. Many erotica sites have too many familiar faces between them.

What I found as I dug through the history of updates was a mix of known and unknown talent. I spotted familiar, even famous models like Eve Angel and Zafira, even the naturally busty and very beautiful porn star Amy Reid. These type of models are far from being in the majority, though. The site does seem to find a lot of fresh talent to share with us, so kudos to them.

The most alluring aspect of this site was its 'edgy' concept and premise. In my opinion, they really nailed this quite well. The reason why is that though there is explicit touching, fingering, even lesbian licking and toy fucking, it all happens in the context of a high quality, artistic erotica shoot. They didn't just pull out a camera and point and shoot, riding on the excitement of the girls' more explicit touching and masturbating, they still go through great pains to make every shot and every video interesting from an artistic stand point.

There was a lot of use of textures and colors in the movies. Such settings include really worn-out cabins with light bleeding through dirty windows, the rough look of the wood contrasted with the smooth body of a nude model, crouched and hand-cuffed to the windowsill. In another, the girl is a little grimy and dirty, a leg lifted and stretched, a colorful net wrapped around its length, the only real bright colors in the shot. You could imagine some of these shots on gallery walls, but there are others that are just too explicit and pornographic -- like closeups of fingers prodding pink pussy lips or rubbing on hard clits. You'll see real cream and juices flowing in some of those closeups. In fact, these extreme closeups were one of the strong points.

This content is available to members in excellent quality downloads and streams. At their best each scene can be saved in two 1080p HD formats: Windows Media or MP4, both with 1920x1080 screens and bit rates over 5 Mbits/s. The scenes aren't very long, generally under five minutes. These are where you'll find most of the more explicit masturbating and lesbian action.

There are 720p HD WMV and MP4 files as well. They are labeled as streaming but you can right-click the links and save the files directly to your hard drive. These have 1280x720 screens and bit rates of well over 5 Mbits/s. You are also free to grab or stream both formats at an even smaller, non HD resolution as a final option.

Picture galleries are available at very high resolutions as well. You can choose to browse or download the galleries in three sizes: 1000 pixel, 2000 pixel, or the largest 3000 pixel (which are 2000x3000 pixels in size). These are very high resolution images that capture the nuances and details of the girls bodies. Those closeups of spread pussy are extremely detailed, for example.

Most galleries average 100 pictures, but some have as few as 40 and others as many as 250+.

Updates are made every 3-4 days for the most part. They add two photo sets in most updates. Once a week they add a new HD video instead of a second gallery. Things are really quite active and growing nicely, in other words. There are no extras but this active update pace means you shouldn't really need or even want any.

Conclusion

The Life Erotic does a good job of keeping things artistic and well-done while at the same time pushing the girls further and harder. The masturbation, vaginal closeups, and lesbian sex here is executed in a way that an erotica fan will appreciate. Great media options and regular updates should make this a great pick for you.
