First impression

It's a pretty grand claim to say that you have the biggest collection of shemale movies on the net, but it'd be great if Shemale Mov lives up to it. The main member's area looks rather plain on first glance. It has a somewhat amateur feel, you have your basic sections running across the top, and quite a few of the latest updates listed. They are very dedicated to updates – only two to three days go by before they're adding in another video. The sidebar is a bit advertising heavy, although it's not to the point of being obnoxious. You can browse through the archives by date here, and it's been going for quite some time, since 2005.

Our opinion

Shemale Mov might not have a lot of bells and whistles when it comes to looks, but they certainly have no problem with delivering on their tour promise. Instead of being a lot of marketing speak, it turns out that they do indeed have one of the largest shemale video collections around, to the tune of 946 videos. They really do need a much better way to navigate them – they have a decent amount of categories, such as couples, threesomes, solo, english speaking, bareback, fetishes, and a handful of others, but they could really use a search feature or even a model directory on top of that.

The individual video pages continue the very basic feel of the site, but you don't need much more than the enticing and plentiful screencaps to get an idea of what's going to happen in that particular scene. There is a quick description, but more often than not you aren't even going to find out the name of the tranny, let alone much of what she's going to do. There are a few different formats, two qualities of downloadable WMV, and a Flash streaming version for the latest entries, and occasionally a 640x480 and 1.5 mbps MPEG. You get the WMVs at 640x480 and 1.5 mbps and 320x240 and 800 kbs. It's actually pretty damn random whether you're going to end up with the MPEG or the WMV format. This inconsistency gets pretty old if you really prefer one format over the other, but they do at least clearly label the qualities of each file. The videos look good on the whole, and while it would be nice to have at least slightly higher quality, the sheer quantity of the collection wins out every time.

Although the videos are the main attraction at Shemale Mov, there is a photo section with professionally shot digital stills for you to enjoy. I was actually expecting matching screencap sets here, so I was rather pleased to see full quality photos like this. Once again, you run into the incredibly bare bones layout – you get the model name, and then the file name under each of the photos, set in a very plain gallery. There is no room for complaint with the quality of the photo work, however. They are shown at 964x1300 and look great in sets of around 100. You can download these in zip files if you'd like.

While Shemale Mov is not really into bells and whistles of apparently any kind, they do deliver a few bonuses. In the main menu sidebar, you'll find a link to some shemale erotica. They have a behind the scenes area that includes any bonus bloopers or extras from their shemale DVD content. Finally there's a third party feeds area. Four of these are spot on tranny feeds, then there's 63 straight, gay, and shemale feeds mixed below those featured.

Conclusion

Shemale Mov does indeed live up to its promise of having one of the biggest shemale porn collections on the web, but it would be nice if they would modernize their site a bit. It misses out on a lot of expected and familiar bells and whistles, but if you can get past that you're going to be in for a recommended shemale experience.
