First impression

Bareback porn might be falling out of style with some, but Bareback Beginners is all about introducing the hottest and newest guys to the bareback scene and making them fall in love with feeling those big dicks, unsheathed and pounding away at his tight hole. These raw bareback scenes feature all sorts of hunks, although the amateur element looks to be pretty strong in all of the guys that they are shooting for this site.

The member's area has a really nice design that is clean, simple, and uncluttered. This is the type of site that you can easily navigate around, and you'd wish that all porn sites were this simple to get around. The sidebar down the left has all of the navigation that you need for the main site and the bonus network. The content area gives you the latest updates, and if you hover over the thumbnails you'll see a few screenshots from each scene rotate through the spot.

Our opinion

Bareback Beginners is a great looking site at first glance, but there's two things that took me by surprise once I really started looking around the member's area. The first is that there is only 14 episodes, and the second is that there hasn't been an update in over three months. I hate seeing these particular negatives right off the bat, especially when it comes from a site that looks as nicely put together as this one.

Continuing into the site, the episode pages list both videos and photos on the same page, although you can also browse the picture sets separately in their own section. The video page starts off with a nice sized Flash streaming video to start you off with. It's around 640x480 and buffers in a flash (no pun intended) if you're after instant action. For those of you that would rather wait, there's two MP4 versions and a WMV for download. The other options on this page include adding the episode to favorites, adding it to your quicklist, putting in comments, finding more of the particular models in the directory, and being able to click through to the category.

The downloads are all DRM free, although I sadly have to report another nasty surprise waiting within the downloads. The highest quality video is the first MP4, and it only shows at 640x360 and 1.15 mbps. This is certainly not the HD quality that the tour is talking about, and it's a another big disappointment from Bareback Beginners. The medium quality is WMV and shown at 480x270 and 1.06 mbps, and the second MP4 is formatted for Ipod and shown at 320x180 and 450 kbps. The video quality is on the average side – there's nothing really good or bad about it. The action is pretty good, and all of the action is bareback as advertised. Again though, the lack of HD videos is really hurting Bareback Beginners. The length is pretty good at 20 minutes, and generally the downloads are on the fast side.

The photo quality is good and shown at 800x533. The pictures are actual photos instead of screencaps, and the sets are on the hefty side at over 200 photos per set on average. Since these aren't caps you get a slightly different flow of the action, and when you want to just sit back and relax you can throw on the variable speed slideshow and enjoy yourself.

The one thing that isn't disappointing about Bareback Beginners is the fact that it has a gigantic bonus network. And I mean gigantic in the literal sense, not the marketing speak sense. With all of its niches combined you get 177 bonus sites and 27,669 scenes. When you end up looking at the gay specific bonus offerings, you get 25 bonus sites (26 if you count the bisexual site) and somewhere around 2,200 scenes. This area of the network also gets updated pretty often, unlike the main site.

Conclusion

There are plenty of bareback sites out there, so Bareback Beginners needed to deliver on everything they promised plus some to stand out at all. Since they failed on all counts with that, you'd be better off finding some other place to sate your no condom needs, unless you have a mega hardon for the bonus network.
