First impression

Gay Porn Access is one of those megasite setups that gives you a ton of porn for your money, so it's good to see that the main member's area has plenty of browsing options. There are 299 sites within the network in total, ranging over more than 30 different categories. The most well representative categories are amateur, black, hardcore, twinks, muscles and jocks, and uniform. The rest of the niches, although smaller, do cover almost every type of gay porn you could possibly desire.

Gay Porn Access does a good job at giving you the two main navigation options that are helpful with a megasite network – keyword searching and categories. This is where the user friendliness of the navigation ends, and a few real flaws begin to show.

Each site has a different layout, setting it up essentially as its own distinct site. While this does keep it away from making each site feel like a cookie cutter addition to the network, it is painful to jump from one site to another, getting used to a new layout in the process. It wouldn't be too bad if there was just one or two sites, or if they had a big list of all of the videos available on their individual sites, but there are 299 of them. It gets old quick. It's also impossible to tell where the latest updates go to, although there is a page with 18 sites that are labeled to update often. You can add sites to your favorites list, so once you have your handpicked ones you can always just go from there. That's an inelegant solution to the real problem, though.

In total there are 1883 videos, and they do return to a standardized format here. You get a Flash streaming video, or two different WMVs. The streaming Flash window is 480x360, buffers quickly, and plays nice and smooth. The larger of the two WMVis 720x528 and 2 mbps, is shot professionally, and gives you plenty of room as far as enlarging the videos goes. The smaller is 320x240 and 900 mbps. The quality is fairly good, and it downloads very quickly. Both WMVs have no DRM, and can also be streamed. Given that the length of the videos is around 15 to 20 minutes, it would have been nice to see clip options. The oldest videos are 512x384 and 1 mbps WMVs. If you've been around the gay porn block, chances are you've seen some of this material since it's all non exclusive. However, having it under one membership can be handy.

I did run into another annoying problem while cruising along this massive porn collection – on one of the sites, I got an unavailable message for every single one of those videos. I don't know if this is a problem that comes up often, but it was frustrating enough on its own.

Gay Porn Access offers three different sites in their bonus sites area. The first is just an upsell free cam site, but the other two are pretty solid. All DVDS has exactly what it says it has, while Boy Toys offers a little bit of everything.

Conclusion

Gay Porn Access would benefit from a near complete overhaul of their navigation, but the content quality is good, and there's an awesome variety. It's just hard to enjoy when it's so difficult to get to everything.
